CTEK Charger Question - Boxster S

Hi All

The Boxster has a nearly flat battery :0(

I connected it up to my Ctek 3600 charger this morning, and it started charging ok.

It now has two red lights lit up, one on the 'Car' and one on 'half full' of the charger.

Does anyone know what this means?

CTEKs manual gives no information whatsoever about what the red green and amber leds mean, an I can find nothing on the internet either :0(

Any ideas ?

Do you think the car will start?

I'm not familiar with the CTEK charger so not sure how helpful this will be, but on mine the 'car' light means it's in 12v charging mode for a car-type battery (as opposed to a motorbike battery), and the 'half full battery' light means it's in heavy charging mode, when the light automatically switches to the 'full battery' it is in conditioning mode.

Only one way to know whether the battery is charged enough to start the car, try it. [;)]

Here's the manual http://www.ctek.com/Manuals/XS3600_en.pdf

I just bought a new battery and before connecting to car I charged it up using my ctek - it took about 10 hours to go from 'half battery' charging lamp (orange light) til it went to 'full battery' maintenance mode(green light). (I've never managed to get it to go to maintenence mode on my old battery in the car, presumably 'cos it's been on the way out for some time..)

I definitely have red leds on :0( Don't known what his means exactly, but I am going to start it !

If it starts ... I'll be out for a drive :0)

I'll report back later

However if anyone knows what the different colours of LED mean, then I would be grateful to know

I am currently assuming that RED is not good :0(

Cheers

Tim

The half battery logo (the middle one ) means that its still taking charge and the whole battery means is fully charged and in general even when you put it back on the car after a drive it will go to the half charged untill it has assesed the battery
The lower set of logos are for ch mode you are going to chose whi bike /car and battery off car
