Hi All, Has anyone had experience of using a CTEK trickle charger through the cigarette lighter? My '67 Cayenne S now spending 2 to 3 weeks parked up, so was thinking of protecting the battery by using one of these. Anything to look out for?
Thanks

Morning Robert this is not something I have needed to do personally but this thread on this on the 992 forum may be of some help.

Thanks Greg, a useful post. I used the charger easily on my GTS in my garage direct to the battery, but the Cayenne is too big to get round to the front, open the bonnet and fit the charging cables, so it was either try the cigarette lighter or rebuild the garage! I just need to find out whether I have a Li-on or AGM battery!

Used a solar charger (20W around £60 on amazon) through the lighter socket on my 05 while it was having extended stays in Scotland - no issues but I suspect maximum current is significantly less than a Ctek could supply - obviously would need the panel mounting outside!
