Hi - Does anyone have a spare set of 17" cup 1's for sale? I've currently got a set of original cup 2's on my 964, and I'm struggling to get hold of a set of Cup 1's of the right offset, originals or even copies!

Any assistance would be appreciated....collection no problem.

Many thanks, Russ

You can get new replicas from Design 911. These are 7.5 inch et 52 and 9 inch et 47. Original cup 1s are 7 inch and 9 inch both with offsets of 55 IIRC. Don't be put off by the slightly different offsets of the replicas ans they fit fine.

Replicas are heavier though, are they not?

Yes they are but Russ mentioned in his post that he was interested in original or replicas. Original cup1s are like hen's teeth [8D]

Thanks all - yes, I was aware that replicas are heavier, but they are looking like my only option at the moment. I'll hold fire for a while to see if anything comes up on eBay. Thanks for the reassuring about replica fit, I was wondering if the offsets were OK for the 964, this is good news. Regards, Russ

Que?
The point is, lighter wheels = better acceleration and handling.
(What's the point of putting heavier wheels on?)

I thought Design 90's are the lightest of all!
So what's the point? Easier to clean?
That's exactly my point! What's the point of going for Cup 1's if they are heavier than the standard? wheels?

It's purely down to taste i.e. looks. I have a set of 17 inch replica cup 1s that were put on the car before I bought it which I love the look of. If the car had come with D90s I would have soon changed them because they're too old fashioned IMO. I also have a set of original 16 inch cups which I am going to use for trackdays. These like the D90s are light in comparison and you can feel the difference - the car is more agile and a tad quicker. However because they are smaller I don't think they look as good as the larger replicas.
