Cup 1 Difference

Posted on 964 forum, thought i'd post there here too:

Is there a visible difference looking at the wheel between an OEM Cup 1 and a replica. The wheels I'm looking at, have 7 and 55, and 9 and 55 by the valves.

Replicas are usually ET47 rear and ET52 front. ET55 suggests they are OEM wheels, the Porsche part number should be stamped on the inside of the wheel .

Thanks for the reply David. Wheels are filthy dirty on a car, so was trying to see in there was a quick way of identifying from the outside.
I think you are right about the offsets.

If they have the width and offset embossed either side of the valve, then they're genuine Porsche - the MM replicas don't have this.

9 / 55 wheel should have the part number 965.362.128.00 inside the centre of the wheel.

7 / 55 should be 965.362.124.00 and .01

The Mille Miglia Cup 1 wheels have slight edges to the curve of the spokes --- ad don't have the size and offset either side of the valve. They are also 7.5 / 55 and 9 / 47.
