Cup Holder Parts

Hi all,

the cup holder on my 987.2 has been broken since I've had it. The flap stays up most of the time but the panel isn't flush and could see a part was broken. I've taken the unit out and dismantled it and its the little arm in the centre of the panel which has snapped. I tried gluing it but as expected it wasn't strong enough. I've looked at various parts sites but they only sell the unit as a whole costing anywhere from ÂŁ160 upwards. I've seen a schematic part drawing which shows the flap illustrated with a number (not a part no sadly).

Do any of you know if it's possible to just get the flap with the leg on it's own?

Thanks in advance

Philip

Hi Richard,

it's the part labelled number nine in this image, on the other side there is a small leg which engages with the soft close gear, the silver trim clips over the top of it. I had contemplated printing one as my son uses 3D printers but wondered if anyone had managed to get the part as I can't imagine i'm the first to have experience this issue[;)]

My cup holder is stuck, it wont come out. Any tricks I should know?
Its easy to remove the unit, just two 4mm Allen key bolts just underneath visible when you open the glove compartment. You can take the lid off and see what the problem isđź‘Ť
