Cup II Offsets

New member
Looking to put 17" Cups back on my '95 car.

7Jx17 55 for the fronts.
9Jx17 for the rear - should it be 55 or 70mm offsets though?

Thanks in advance (I did try a search BTW [8|])

Both offsets will fit OK Alan but the 70 offset wheels sit 15mm further in than than the 55's and IMHO do not look right.

Yup, would advise a 15mm spacer if you fit the 70s......not sure why this offset was offered.
Most wheels will be 9x55s, but have had some 70s in the past.....with spacers.
I have 55s on at the moment, with winter tyres.....still drives sideways in the snow.....great fun.

Rgds,
Jon

Great fun indeed Jon, I have winter tyres with 70 offset 16" rear wheels on my C4 and even it goes sideways in the snow and ice if you really want it to [:)]

The issue I'm now finding is since I lowered it in the summer it's now bottoming out on the (not very) high snow between the tracks, so much so that I snapped a chunk off one of my undertrays the other day []

I'm not sure that early cars "required" the 70 offset, rather they "had" a 70 offset. The driver's manual for my 95 non-vario indicates the 17" wheels as having a 70 offset with 55 as an option.

RTFM then!
Thanks all :)
Dylan: will still need to sell before the New Arrival but would like it back on 17's for now.
