Cupar Highland Games - July 6th

Dear all,

First of all sorry for the short notice but the original request slipped from the clubs attention through no ones fault.

On the 6th of July this year there is a highland games in Cupar, Fife. This event has run successfully for a number of years and always draws a large crowd. Through two good friends I was approached, as a know Porsche fanatic and PCGB member, asking whether or not PCGB could put on a static display of cars at the games. Ideally a selection of cars through the ages but no one was really fussed.

I have been in discusion with John of R2 and Chris our regional director. John has kindly on my behalf talked to R1. Unfortunately however it has now been deemed too late to organise an official stand but I have been told that if I cold get a selection of volunteers and their cars together for the event then we will be supported by the usual flags and PCGB stuff etc.

All profits from Cupar Highland Games are distributed fully to local charities; I know from a past chairman this always happens very quickly and the monies raised does make a real difference to a lot of people.

So does anyone in any of the Scottish regions have Sunday the 6th free and would they be prepared to bring their car along to make up a display at this event. My personal offer is free lunch on me and a pint as well. Ideally I am looking for 6 to 8 cars and how and what we do will have to be figured out when we see what the response is like to this post.

I hope I am not breaking any rules in posting my e-mail address here, frazer.blyth@avian.co.uk, but if you are interested then please reply to this thread or drop me an e-mail. My mobile is also 07793 041618. I live in Monifieth just outside Dundee if anyone is passing and wants to say hello.

Many thanks and apologies again for the late notice. Also thanks to John Cherworth for his recent help with this.

Best regards,

Frazer
