As well as 23 entrants in the Porsche Speed Championship, including two 964RS's and a Cup, there were in the region of 70 entrants total including rather a lot of Aston Martins!

P1 RESULTS: 1st Adrian Rowlands 964RS 2nd Tim Barber 964RS 3rd Melvin Spear 964 CUP

Hi Mel I was down to do this event but I have a problem with the car. Can you post the times, it would have been interesting with the weather ? Nigel

Hi Nige Off the top of my head my practice times were 70 summat, 63.?s, 0.2s behind Tim and then after lunch 81s!!! (incl spin and misfire....[&:]) and then a 67.07 on a drying track. First in batch so I was only a hero for about 5 minutes!! Ade got down to 65 I think, FTD went to Ian Wadsworth with a blistering and smooth 64ish...... Much more fun than I thought it would be and the day a fitting tribute to the late Jeff Archer. What a nice bunch the AMOC crowd are!!

Yep,it was very interesting despite the weather-the Porkers were great to watch-as the track was drying all the time, the 2nd runs were very critical-I presume tyres fitted & their grip/performance made much of the difference-Melvyn was very smooth. Some of the older Astons were also very quick & impressive with faster final speed times over the line.

ORIGINAL: VITESSE Melvin was very smooth.
Flattery gets you everywhere Colin........[&o][;)] The track certainly suited the softer sprung cars, especially in the wet, and it was extraordinary to see how planted Ian's car was with the suspension working away My petite pirouette went summat like: Rain hmmmm -need more weight for turn in, put in 15litres of fuel, turned in beautifully at the bottom corner, took kerb and apex, but nobody had told the back of my car to follow the front and it very gently turned to almost face the way I was going with barely any power on.....pix to follow....[&:]

From memory in class 1, Spud on 65.35, me on 65.67, Mel 67.07 ... and then Ian W in Class 3 with a stonking 64.08 [&:] Smooth driving and compliant suspension counted for a lot more than power in the conditions yesterday....

Lots of pics here -[link=http://s787.photobucket.com/albums/yy158/A9XXC/PCGB%20and%20AMOC%20Sprint%20Meeting%20Curborough/]Curborrough[/link] Good day out in "testing" conditions. I think it went because you were only on 3 wheels!
