Curiosity is killing the cat, unidentified motor/electrics

This must be a common question but I've searched and can't find the answer so apologies in advance.

What is the motor/electronics in the LH rear quarter just in front of the battery in the boot? I couldn't work it out []

Thanks,

+1; it's definitely the sunroof motor with slipping clutch and microswitch assembly. Cables go round to the gearboxes and actuating arms at the back of the sunroof.
The little gearboxes contain the most fragile plastic gears known to man (and Porsche designers); the teeth fall off the gears if you sneeze at them.
If the roof stops in the open position you can wind it back down by pulling the plastic cover off the end of the motor drive mechanism (slipping clutch) and turning the nut underneath it using your spark plug spanner.

Just to add to the (correct) answers given above, you will also often find a "black box" from the original dealer-fit alarm lurking in that area.
