Curious problem with Autowatch 160

Has anyone had a similar problem as mine?

Several owners ago my car had an Autowatch 160 professionaly fitted. I've had no problems with it until a year into ownership of my car. At least, I'm assuming it's at the root of my problems.

Every now and then, with the key out of the ignition and without the alarm deployed I've come back to the car to find the near side front and rear indicators and side marker on BUT not flashing. Just on. The indicator stalk is in the neutral position. Putting the key in the ignition does not cure the problem. However, disconnecting the battery via my battery cutout, then reconnecting switches them off. Everything after that is as normal. Until some random point in time when it occurs again. The last time cause the battery to go flat - requiring the RAC to get me moving again.

Anyone else had this problem? I'm assuming there must be some kind of fault with the immobiliser / alarm system as only these can be powered up with the ignition off and indicator in the neutral position. Any ideas much appreciated - it's so not cool to have to keep lifting the bonnet prior to starting.
