Curious thing?

Curious thing happened y'day whilst out and about. Following a fuel stop, I started the car as usual and pulled away, no drama. however, I noticed that the CD player was not playing and the display was showing:

CDS 'STOP'

Needless to say, I tried to rectify it on the move but got nowhere. I tried to change to radio, but nothing, I believed that it may have just needed a re-boot, so to speak, by turning the ignition off and on again. Sure enough, started her up this morning and bingo, CD working. Any idea's what this 'fault' was or could have been? I have had the windows stop half way when retracting the roof before now, might there be a few gremlins in the system?

cheers

Keith

Symptomatic of the CDR-23 i'm afraid - happens from time to time, and affects the CDR-24 in the gen 1 987s too.

ignition off/on clears the fault - also pressing buttons TP, 1 and 4 rests too (might have that combo wrong, its years since i had to do it on my 986 !)

Porsche did swap head units for a while, but when the 'faulty' ones were tested back in Germany they never showed the fault when powered up (as per ign off, ign on !), so they issued a TSB to dealerships telling them not to replace units.
