I have been offered (& am currently considering buying) a 912.

Although I've owned several Porsches, I've never owned a 912 & am a bit out of touch with current market values...

What is the 'going rate' for an unmolested lwb model in excellent original condition (never been repainted) with a documented full engine rebuild by a reputable Porsche specialist in Germany ?

That sounds familiar that car. It wouldn't be orange would it, with a dent in the wing?

If not, is it LHD or RHD?

They go for anything between 2 and 12k.
For 12 you should be getting the best car, best paint and recent engine build in rhd.
Average price seems to be around 8 or 9.
Quality varies wildly.
Prices are creeping up slowly.
Beware engine builds unless they have a warranty.

do you only buy '69 cars? [;)] Welcome to the club... next step, register!
Then you can be the proud owner of a Register sticker!

Haven't collected the car yet & forgot to take my digital camera (!!) so haven't got any pictures to post yet.

Yes, it was the car that was (temporarily) advertised on Transend's website (without permission/knowledge of the owner) -

1969 LHD model with all original panels/paintwork & a completely (no expense spared) rebuilt engine by a Porsche specialist in Germany. One California owner for most of its life then a second owner in Germany.

When I went to look at it, it was sharing its accomodation with, amongst others, a LHD RS Lightweight, RHD RS Touring (possibly the best in the world?), 1974 3.0RS, 1974 3.0RSR, 1972 2.5ST, 1973 Kremer 2.8RSR, 964 RS Lightweight ...

I'll post pictures next week when it's delivered - & of course I'll join the register Gavin.
