Cutoff protection Temperature PCM message on PCM unit

Hi, posting to see if anyone's experienced this, it's a message that comes up on the PCM ( 2.1 ) in a 997.1 C2S 2005 after about 20 minutes after starting from cold. The unit pings for a while with this message on the screen whilst any music/radio is playing and then shuts down.

Local OPC's saying replace the PCM unit.

I've seen other posts in blogs talking about reseting the unit with fuses D9 and D10 out, which I've done and I've seen others talking about faulty navigation DVDs which I've also taken out.

Any input appreciated.

The unit may have a cooling fan, which has probably failed/seized. OPC will only offer replacement at £!!!. Better to find a repair specialist or go for something more up to date.
 
Geoff, thanks for the reply, yes, the quoted figure for replacement was huge. I'm now looking around for a repair specialist, Cartronics seem really helpful.
