CV Joint Advice..!

After a hard day at Mondello theres a knocking coming from the back of our "Track Bitch 944" . This only happens on right handers and when the weight is on the suspension... We were figuring that the left outer CV joint is to blame. Will we replace the outer CV's or both inners and outer CV's ....? Has anyone had an inner CV joint fail?.....[&:] You were all right when you said that we would get addicted to the trackday bug [:D]

I've just ordered all four from Berts as I have the same symptoms. Just over £200.
After ordering I read Clarkes's guide which suggested the originals may be ok as long as there is no damage, you can just re-grease them. Having said that if you are intending on doing more track days it may be best to do the lot [;)]

Cheers Dico.....! I think at £200 its worth doing the 4.....[;)]

It takes a long time for the dirt to clear from your fingernails after a job like that [:D]

I have my rubber gloves at the ready!
Its supposedly a straightfroward job. I'll let you know.
Oh, I had to buy a set of 'Cheese head' sockets from Halfords, £20. They're marked up as spline sockets, make sure you get the 12 point ones if you haven't already got them.

We are rebuilding a box from an 89+ Turbo with an LSD at the moment (well its on the bench anyway [:D]) so we will order the joints ready to install when the gearbox is ready.. We will have to get them sockets too... Thanks for the heads up Dico ...! Let us know how it all goes....[;)]
