Cycling valve help

Pulse width modulation is its mode of control.

The ECU varies the amount of time each pulse of 12V lasts. More pulse width equals longer time for the cycling valve to close the feed to the wastegate. On the car the pulses are short and frequent. The IV sounds like its ticking. But TTM's bench bench is the easy way to check its function. Also you can check the port to wastegate closes when you apply 12V and the other port opens (to inlet tract). Maybe you can blow through the ports with a section of hose to feel the closure.

Removed inlet manifold and checked C.V. clicks like a good un, so checked hoses [:)]
Could the problem be this?

Wastegate hose.

I would say you've answered your own question [:D]

If that's the hose to the wastegate come loose then you'll be getting a massive boost and/or vacuum leak so won't make much positive boost pressure at all.

It's an easy fix and your car is about to get a whole lot faster [8D]

+1 to Paul's comments above.. I'd add that since you have the inlet manifold off why not renew the perishable parts while you have the chance. It gets very hot under the inlet manifold and I guarantee you that the wiring is well passed it's best if it's even working properly at all.
Replace all hoses, wiring and anything else that looks cooked, you'll probably find that some parts will just crumble in your hands...
