Hi All
Unfortunately I have to fold back the d/s door mirror to get the car in the garage.
This time when I pulled it back to its driving position, there was suddenly a "lot of Play" NO tension!!
After trying to release the mirror glass for an hour. Finally managed to pop it out. Thank god for the workshop manual.
It looks like the top friction joint that keeps the large spring under tension has separated.
Nightmare situation 2.
Inside mirror is a white circular connector with 7 cables.
You have to remove the wire from the plug (special tool req) or cut wires (do not want to do this!) so you can remove the bloody mirror from the door.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Or am I having a bad weekend.
If it cannot be repaired. Where in the best place to buy a Door mirror assembly
Porsche or second-hand?
Regards
Jodal
PS. All I want to do is drive the car!
