DAFT QUESTION OF THE DAY...

With the engine being where it is, if you're rear end shunted at force (i am an "Ambulance Chaser" after all) is there a significant risk of serious mechanical damage, as opposed to the usual case of relatively minor, body work re-fits?

Apologies in advance...

No more so than a front end shunt in a front engined car !

Stop panicking old chap and get that order in, you know you want to !

I was heavily rear ended in my 996 a few years ago.
The poor car that hit me was in a very sorry state, the 911 looked pretty untouched, sure the bumper was split, but the subframe seemed to disperse the majority of damage..

Made the loudest Bang I'd ever heard [:(]

A transit van, whos driver was keen to see the rear spoiler go up and down on my 964, hit us up the a**e at speed, the first thing I saw was a very bent Transit, thinking the worst looked at my baby, damaged but nothing compared to the Ford. We were fine not a mark or any whip lash, the poor van driver was very white!

The moral, 911 are built like brick sh*t houses as they say up North!!!!!!!![:D]

Only if your 911 becomes front engined as a result!

Er? I have a question... What is an Ambulance Chaser...?

ambulance chaser
n. Slang.
  1. A lawyer who obtains clients by persuading accident victims to sue for damages.

Very American - ambulance chasers [or more often their unqualified staff] literally sit listening to police/emergency scanners, go to accidents and hospitals and try to sign up prospective clients on a contingency fee basis - about 30 - 40% of the claim regardless of the work undertaken. Perhaps this Government thinks that this is fair because it will save the cost of Legal Aid. And, of course, this gives a personal financial incentive for a lawyer to take on/fight any accident case.

Forbidden in England and Wales although you would not necessarily believe it if you see some of the current adverts on TV.

Criminal lawman hits back.......

Ooh dear Gary - I hope you got some ointment!

I used to like Criminal lawyers too...

Hope you're well & looking forward to Xmas; mail me sometime.

It's a Personal Injury lawyer.

I'm fast running out of excuses not to get the order in now...

Come on Mr Blonde,

I have just spent a good hour in the Mens Creche ( Garage ) with a glass of red, U2 blasting out on the Bose, just admiring the engineering and leather appointed luxury of Dr Ings finest.

It doesn't get much better than that this side of Heaven.

By the way, dont forget to give OPC Mid Sussex a chance for your business before you place your deposit. Forget the geographical proximity, I travelled 200 + miles to them to have my X51 kit fitted and am very well chuffed to bits with the service received.

Regards

Yves

On the contrary Mr B,

I too am a big fan of the blue and white propellor having owned 4 of their finest models in the last 5 yrs ( 325i, 330i. M3 & 535d M Sport twin turbo rocketship ) and in fact picking up Nr 5 on friday ! ( 120d SE, Auto, full leather, toys, etc ).

Used to do the red wine and music thing in all the Beemers and enjoyed it just as much !

Splendid

Yves
