hi all,

who is coming along on thu ? anyone eating or just meeting for drinks ?

regards
scott

Just the drink!!!! Still think we should have a vote on Thursday whether we stay at Dakota or try the Hawes in the near future. Parking wasn't much of an issue the last time we were there and moving the furniture isn't an issue either! See ya all Thursday. Kim x

Sorry, won't there, but I do have a world class excuse ... A main spring has gone BANG in my favourite TV lounging sofa, and my travelling freelance upholsterer and sofa repairer is due to call on Thursday evening [:D]

Will be there for a drink only. Scott, please bring anything with you that might assist in my trip to the ring in a couple of weeks, hopefully you can give me a few pointers? Cheers, Donald.

Stay clear of the Armco barriers [:D][:D][:D] Just drive it at your own pace and look out for the buses [:D]

2 for food here. How many for Inveraray Scott as I have not booked it yet? Charles Why do you want to move Kim? Dakota is good for food. Not sure I would eat at Hawes.

I like the food at the Hawes and the food and drink are reasonably priced unlike Dakota! The fact nobody eats at Dakota anymore is maybe a hint? Up for discussion tomorrow night. See ya. Kx PS. Inky.....Its defo South Queensferry.......hope you can still make it would love to see the new toy.

ORIGINAL: 2fast4u I like the food at the Hawes and the food and drink are reasonably priced We ate at the Hawes a couple of weeks ago and it was awful. Mass produced, reheated and all round just vile [:'(]. And not as cheap as you would think for what you get. Their Sauvignon Blanc was not nearly a nice as Dakota's and was served a bit too warm for my liking (it went back). Dakota may be a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for - good quality, freshly prepared food and a decent glass of wine. The service at the Hawes hasn't improved much either and I certainly wouldn't go rushing back. And then of course there is the parking issue. Having said all that, its unlikely that I'll make it to meets for the next wee while anyway, as I have a wee hungry boy who prefers "Private Dining".

Well, the Hawes was very good the last 2 occasions I was there (was for lunches mind), and the service was good to. TBH I don't rate Dakotas food all that great and, I grudge paying £9 for a glass of wine. But, it's not up to me is it! Kx
