Hi Paul,
NOW you"'ll understand why I got PC Bournemouth to fit mine. I couldn't even see where the connections were, let alone swap the switches.. Had I continued the job I'd have needed an orthopaedic surgeon, a handfull of prozac and a restraining order to stop me from throttling the person that said it is a 30 minute job!

One now knows why modern Porsche owners look at us with either distdian or admiration and PC,s go running to the bank!

You would be well advised to fit relays in the headlight circuits to protect that new switch once fitted. Access to fog light switches etc. is by removing the heater if memory serves well. So maybe the 6 pin connector you are searching for is hiding there?

Hello
I had a problem with the steering column mounted control for the lights, main beam/dip 8 years ago. The problem was that the bit of plastic in the mechanism melted and left the main beam contacts in permanent contact. Result main beam on all the time.
I removed the control and was able to re-make the damaged part of the switch with araldite. I took the opportunity to fit relays in both main beam and dipped beam circuits as the problem is cause by the switch carring full load and getting hot and melting it really needs relays.
So now my column switch carries minimal load and has worked fine for the last 8 years. If you look in the adverts on Porsche Post and 911 and Porsche World all the parts companies sell these bits because that always burn out.
I found the American Bentley workshop manual was perfect and clearly showed where the connectors were located and which wires in the fuze box should go to the relay.
Hope you get yours sorted.

Paul,
In case I forget to mention this on Sunday, Type 911 have got OEM indicator stalks in stock. £95 + VAT and shipping. If you haven't done so already, try Porsche Bournemouth first and don't forget your club discount!
See you both Sunday - hope the border guards are in good spirits!
