Dansk backbox on Turbo S problem

The tailpipe on my original exhaust eventually cracked and split. I suppose it may have welded together, but instead I opted to replace it. A Porsche replacement is c.£900, which seems a bit steep, so based on recommendations from using the search facility I ordered a Dansk box. It duly arrived and looked very well made.

Unfortunately, it didn't fit on the car as it fouled the anti-roll bar. Comparing it with the original, the original has a flattened section where it passes near the torsion bar and anti-roll bar. The Dansk unit has a very mild flattening but nowhere near enough to clear the car. I notified the reseller, Design 911, who agreed to exchange the unit. The second unit arrived after a few days but this too does not have sufficient clearance.

I need the car back on the road to start sorting out some other bits so I've given the garage my permission to make it fit, which I know will probably involve a block of wood and a selection of large hammers! That's not a problem and I'm happy to do that even if it turns out to be a short term fix, accepting that any warranty is now null and void.

The question is though, why doesn't it fit? Is there some subtle difference with the '88S? Are there any other Silver Rose owners out there who've had similar problems? Or is there a gotcha when fitting the Dansk that I'm unaware of?

My series one rear section fouls ever so slightly on the rear ARB. Its not an insurmountable problem and it only makes itself known occasionally. A local exhaust manufacturer will 'relieve' it for £10, but Im going to wait until a new ARB is fitted, along with new mounts, to see whether the issue remains.

I remember that when I first fitted mine to an '89 Turbo it vibrated against the rear ARB, but I simply adjusted the rear bolts so that it hung at its lowest height and it cleared it fine?[&:]
