Dansk exhaust 996 C4

I'm looking at a Dansk exhaust for my 996 C4 but can't decide between the "sound" and the "super sound" (big price difference!) Anyone got either fitted to their 996? What do you recommend?
I don't mind loud but I don't want droning in the cabin; it's my daily driver.
Thanks.

I've had the 96.300S fitted today to my 996 4S, it was recommended by another 4S owner & I'm not disappointed.....
25 mile drive home & sounds quite 'fruity' through the gears but not 'boomy' once in 6th & cruising....

Evidently the 300 EXP is not road legal but I stand to be corrected..... as usual [;)]

Hope this helps

I like the Dansk exhaust and fit alot of them. To date we have only fitted the OE equivalent version which sounds slightly deeper than the factory exhaust (I assume this is the first one you describe).

So slightly more noise, but no resonating/booming and very easy to live with. Ni complaints yet.

Sadly not fitted the other. I wasn't aware of a big price difference though. I thought they were roughly similar.

Dansk do 3 rear boxes, OE, sport and supersound

The supersound ones are loud! Go with the 96.300S, £495+, OEM are about £700+ and supersound £515+

There was a setof 96.300S on 911UK yesterday, guy wanted £300 for them

Hi all. First post from me since joining nearly a year ago. I have fitted Dansk supersound to my 996 C4S and am very pleased with the results. There is no droning at motorway speeds and makes a lovely noise similar to the Porsche sports switchable exhaust system fitted to my friends C4S. I think I paid around £700 from 9 apart and found they were very helpful with info regarding this system..

Thanks everyone, all the advice is much appreciated. The issue I mentioned regarding cost is from viewing the Design911UK website; they have one for £518 and another for £1,125.
I'm edging towards the Super Sound.
Anyone in the NE area got one fitted? It would be a good excuse for a drive out to come and hear it in the flesh [:)]

Got a ride in a 996 with a loud Dansk exhaust today (thanks Greg - RO Region 3).
Very impressed that it was as quiet as my standard one while pootling BUT it howls above 3000rpm.
Might have found my solution )

I have a 2002 C4S and I was concerned about corrosion around the seams on my original silencers so I replaced them with the Dansk OEM style Sport Silencers which turned out to be far too quiet so I took them off and modified them with a 2" bypass Hack.

Now it sounds great, starts up with a little more noise than before but as the revs drop back it quietens down nicely, sounds really good when pulling away but not antisocial. No drone on the motorway, sounds pretty normal in the cabin at a steady throttle but makes a lovely noise when you open it up.

Sadly I've recently had to take the Dansk back boxes off as one of them has developed an internal rattle. One of the internal welds has failed on the pipes between the first and second chambers. I'm having the box opened up and repaired and will return them to the car soon, but it's a bit disappointing after only a year on the car.

Have the originals back on the car in the mean time and despite my previous concern about the corrosion around the seams they are still going well, although the car sounds rathers muted.

They look good but does that bypass reduce bhp slightly, had heard the 'Gundo' hack does? The seams on my original silencers also started to fail but still managed to sell them on ebay after I replaced them.. Was honest with the description but people still want them so don't chuck em out when you refit your dansk ones.

The bypass I put in is the Gundo hack, does it affect Bhp? No idea on that one but subjectively the car does feel better back on the original back boxes.

But I do wonder whether that is because the speed it puts on comes without the soundtrack (I.e. it doesn't sound like your trying), is it actually quicker, pull stronger or does it just subjectively feel that way because it comes without the noise?
