Dansk supersound exhaust

Hi, I am going to get a Dansk exhaust for my 996 and am thinking of getting the super sound over the sports exhaust, the garage has told me it is very loud, does anybody have this exhaust? It sounds great on the JP website. Thanks

Hi have you decided on an exhaust yet? I had a listen and the supersound does sound quite good. I have been told by the boss i cant get one till july but that seems quite promising. I dont know of any other websites that let you play the note which is daft as it what you're buying the exhaust for!

Hi, still unsure, I really want the super sound but somebody else told me they were also advised against it and another had it removed as it was so loud, think I will wait a bit and try to hear the supersound in the flesh, I will let you know how it goes, thanks.

Ian/Chris,

I'm sure that you wouldn't chaps, but I'd strongly advise against commiting to a purchase based upon some dubious sounds on a website, probably recorded using equally dubious sound measurement equipment. The sound needs to have been recorded using what's known as a binaural head system and replayed through the system using quality headphones at a calibrated level to achieve a realistic spatial sound.

You really do need to appraise the system on an actual vehicle under different conditions - idle, constant cruising speeds and wide-open throttle for instance - to be sure that you can live with it long term. Otherwise you could find that the exhaust howl which is so intoxicating when you're accelerating up through the gears becomes an unbearable boom at motorway cruising speeds.

Thanks Jeff, I wont be buying anything until I hear it for real but have not come across anybody near me yet that has this system, at the moment it's about 60/40 against getting it, some people like it but some have actualy had it removed as they found it so loud.

I had the standard Dansk Sports exhaust fitted 3 years ago and it sounds great. Bear in mind it isn't switchable, so any system has to sound sensible under low throttle openings (early morning starts!) and not boomy at constant throttle on motorways.

Dansk Sports exhaust achieves this with a great 3k+ rpm noise and a satisfying popping on the over run. Childish, I know.

However my apologies, not heard a Supersound.

Note, my car is a 2002my 3.6 C2.

After much headscratching and research I went for the Dansk Sports Exhaust 96.330.
I was advisted that EXP version was too loud.
Very pleased with the result, good tone without been overtly loud.
Fine on recent run from Belfast to Scarborough and back No sore heads.
