Hi everyone
After having the car, a p reg 993 targa tip s in the workshop to replace the heat shields, ( coincidence probably ) on the way home I noticed that the dash light that shows which gear i'm in was not working . Has anybody had the same problem or any idea what may have caused it . Any help gratefully received.
Regards

one time the rev counter light went.... a firm thud on the side of the dial bought it back to life... worked fine since ! [&:]

Although a little tricky, you can prize the dash units out and replace the bulbs (less than £1 a piece). I have only tried this with the centre unit but I guess the process is the same for the others. I used a flat bladed screw driver to loosen the unit and then just manipulated it out by hand. The steering wheel gets in the way a bit but you can work round it.

Hi - I think if you have the OBC, then the tach is deeper, and the steering wheel and airbag need to be removed to take the tach out of the dash?

Thanks Sundeep, Rob and Pete.
After originally checking fuses and finding no problem, it was suggested that i should change the 7.5 amp anyway, so I did and hey presto the lights now work. On closer inspection there was a hairline crack in the fuse giving continuity, but not full amps. What A bas***d, still fixed now!!!
Thanks
Steve B
