Dash

I notice from other threads in the past, it isn't uncommon for the dash to crack. Mine has 1 nasty crack right in the middle and a myriad of others around the screen vents.

My dash/consol is black at the top and white on the lower half, below the vents with a white glovebox.
I would like to replace the dash but I cannot determine without taking it apart wether the two are separate as I only need to get my hands on the upper part.
I looked at Pauls (Diver944) thread and the dash seems to be one piece.
Anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

I have a blue and linen one (surely your's isn't really white?) which I would p/x for a cracked one as I can repair it sufficiently out of the car to be good enough to flock and then bash big holes in for roll cage pipe to go through.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]It's a dark blue, but you'd still need to use vinyl paint to make it black to look right. It is in perfect condition though.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Fen, I suppose you could say its linen (off white) colour and not white, but I have do have white carpets. I'm going to bear your offer in mind. How well do you think the vinyl paint will work?

Thanks

I have never used it, but I understand that it works quite well if you get the right stuff and degrease the item properly so it keys well. Something in the back of my mind tells me Paul (Diver) has used it for something in the past.

I've used the vinyl paint to repair telephone holes in my linen centre console and it worked pretty well. I don't know about longevity to change the colour on a whole dashboard though [&:]
