Dashboard retrim on late 944 S2

Does anyone know of a company that would be able to retrim or repair the heat cracking on the top of a 944 dasboard? I liev around the Sussex area so ideally someone near here?

Possibly not what you are looking for, but 928leathershop.com (states-based) does some lovely leather dashboards for 928's and 944's ... like this:

I don't think they'll be cheap, but the £/$ exchange is good at the moment and that'll bring it down a bit!

That looks really reasonable given the exchange rate! I'll give them a call to find out what the shipping charges will be. The only thing I'm worried about is what to do if they lost it in transit! I'd end up with a car with no dash!

Won't those links all be for LHD cars? I looked into this to repair the big crack I had in my dash. I ended up buying a dash of eBay and fitting it myself (pretty straight forward). The old dash will make it onto eBay eventually but the new one wasn't dear when compared to a repair that may or may not last etc. New dash had no mobile phone holes which I've found a rarity on 944's frp, the yuppy era (turbos, S2's).

Just emailed them. They can do RHD as well it seems.

I'd loev to get hold of a dash on ebay but my dash is Marine Blue and I don't reallyw ant to put a black one on as I'm not sure how it woudl look with blue leather seats and the bottom half of the dash being in blue.

Interesting .... keep us posted with how you get on with that. I've seen those on Rennlist and always liked the look of them, but never been able to justify owning one!

Paul - How do I register my 944 on the 944 register? My 997 is registered, but the 944 needs to be but on the PCGB website there are no contact details on how to do it?

Another option is to source one from breakers/ebay. There are plenty around and for much much less money (probably 1/10th of the trimed one).

Hi Charles. Yeah I have tried to get them from ebay or a breakers. They're all black though and I really want to keep the blue theme :(

Plus leather is nice. It'd be nice to have the entire dash done including centre console etc although as you can see from that site it would be pretty costly!!

Don't forget it's always worth getting advice from a proper trimmer here in the UK. My first 944 had a cracked dash and the plan was to just get it covered (but the car got written off first!).....seems best to remove the dash from the car (plenty of advice on places like Clarkes Garage).

With stuff from the US, safe arrival seems to be no problem (I got a good deal on a Momo steering wheel) but don't forget you'll have tax and shipping costs to pay.

ORIGINAL: EEE

I don't really want to put a black one on as I'm not sure how it woudl look with blue leather seats and the bottom half of the dash being in blue.

The dash is all one piece and includes the lower section, so if you did buy a black one it would replace the lower part too. Southbound will do a leather retrim and even though they are expensive and take a long time I bet it would be cheaper than shipping your dash to the US []

Paul - Thank you for that. I'm now in contact with them and waiting for the price. They even have the original Marine Blue Leather and Vinyl! Perfect!
