Dashboard Warning Lights

JCB..

Non-member
First off Hello to anyone that remembers me!

I've had 4 lights come on today came on twice and then went out but are now on permanently.

T/C Warning, T/C Information, ABS and Battery Charge lights are on. []

MY2000 2.7

Anyone have any ideas please?

John

What ho John!

How old is the battery? That might account for all 4. Or a dodgy alternator, perhaps.

If you can get a voltmeter on the battery, it should read over 12.5 volts engine off, or over 14 volts engine running.

Richard

12 Volts whether engine is running or not!

Alternator?

Sounds like the alternator to me. It is quite often the regulator pack. An exchange alternator from Porsche: £1000. From Euro car Parts: £300. Regulator pack: about £25.

Agree with Richard, had the same symptoms and after a bit of research, removed alternator and fitted Regulator pack. Can recommend the guys from Wood Auto at the website below for part.

Engine was also smoother and more response after fitting, guess that's related to fuel injection voltage levels.

I had an alternator go on my 2002 BOXSTER 3.2S which i've owned for two years on 33,000mls with full main dealer servicing. I rang Porsche East London and was quoted £114-00 + vat to test to see if it was the alternator a further £800-00 + vat and 3 hours labour to fit. Hourly rate is £114-00+ vat, i found a company called Charge'n' start in Welling Kent and fitted a replacement Bosch unit for £300-00 + vat fitted.
