Dashboard Zizz & Radio malfunction

Just completed 4,500 miles in Carrera 4S following 96,000 in a Boxster S. Dashboard "Zizz" is much worse in the 996 ( result of higher tyre pressures ?) and seems to be caused by the CD storage trays. Occurs on any coarse surface, even motorways. Any cure for this?
Car is fitted with Sound Package and Bose. After several hours driving ( mostly with radio off) , the radio refuses to progress beyond "PORSCHE" appearing in the display & will take no further inputs. I notice the front boot amplifier gets very warm ( even with floor divider permanently removed) Anyone else experienced this problem?

the CDR-23 unit is a piece of crap - notoriously unreliable. I have had various problems with mine...sometimes as you describe, sometimes no sound at all etc..

As for dashboard "Zizz" I have 18s on my boxster and it is silent....maybe get your OPC to insert some pieces of foam to sort it out.

I have a buzzy rattle on my car which occurs on bumpy roads and/or at high revs. Going to OPC tomorrow to try and sort out - it's not from CD storage though - mine (older) has cassette storage but the buzz is still there even with this removed.

We'll see if they manage to fix it..

Re the radio malfunction - try removing the main radio fuse and then replace. Don't remove the 2nd. live supply otherwise you will have to reset the code!
THere is supposed to be a reset code using three of the buttons on the front fascia, only problem is that no-one in my OPC knows what they are....... sums them up really!

Thanks for your replies. The Boxster IIRC had the CDR 32 unit (the one with the facia you had to flip down to insert / extract a CD. Which ergonomics genius thought of that ?) The only problem I had with that one was, at about 3 years old I noticed a dull glow from the display even with everything switched off. Again, the unit would take no inputs so I decided to remove the relevant fuse overnight and the next day all was fine. never did it again. This 996 unit has malfunctioned twice in the first two months so I was straight into the fuse decoder sheet, out with the relevant fuses in row C I think it was , left it for 5 minutes, put them back in and all OK.
How do I remove the CD storage? I know how to get the 2 leather-covered sides off the lower central console but the main plastic module has no obvious dismantling points ( I have bum warmer switches on the lower strip)
