I want to replace two of the dials on my dashboard because the little lights are all wrinkled, I have sourced replacements.

However I have found that the pattern of lights is different, I have a green light with some sort of suspension/drive icon on it on my car but on the replacement the dial is orange 'check engine'.

Does it matter?

'91 964 C4 targa.

Roof leek that caused the problem was fixed ages ago and this si the only issue.

Mike,

I'm guessing that the replacements are for a US vehicle. I THINK the US cars had the "Check Engine" light whereas the green light you refer to is the PDAS activation light - which was supplied with no bulb fitted.

If my assumption is correct then I guess it doesn't really matter since the light won't come on anyway.

That's kind of odd - I have now fitted the new dial. Having never seen the green one do anything - the orange 'check engine' does flash on occassionally.

Mike,

It's not THAT odd. The PDAS light was never fitted with a bulb in production - Porsche decided it was too distracting, particularly at night - but your new clock obviously DOES have a bulb fitted, hence the new experience!! If it does get too distracting you'll have to implement the Porsche solution - remove the bulb!!!
