Data on Special Editions?

Has Porsche released any data on sales of the Cayman S special editions? I'm particularly wondering:

- how many were sold in each country?
- how many of each colour of the Sport were sold? (I've never seen a black or silver one, even in photos...)
- how many Tiptronic vs. manual? (I know of one Tiptronic Sport in the UK, but I wouldn't expect there to be many!)

Also, out of curiosity, is there a relationship between the chassis number and the limited edition number?

Were they all built in Uusikaupunki? (mine was).

Finally, where are the number 1s? (of 777 Design Editions and 700 Sports).

If this data isn't available, could the register secretary request it from Porsche Cars GB?

Thanks!

- Craig (Sport #340, Carrara White, manual, silver 19" Carrera Sport wheels).

Hi There is a Porsche Cayman Sport on the Porsche GB section for dealer cars for sale. The other Colours are Orange, Green, Yellow, White, Red, Black & as you say Silver. With reference to the 777 your talking about was also a Cayman S could Design Edition 1 With reference to the Sport I think this is limited to 700 cars Worldwide & if you need to know how many was made just for the UK market in Manual or Tiptronic & which Colour speak to Porsche GB as they would know how many come to the UK & in which colour & as which gearbox. There was a brochure done on both models & you maybe still able to get a copy from the Porsche Dealership near to you or I have seen them on E-Bay & the brochure has a Orange car on it. All the best & I hope this information has been of help to yourself. Kevin [:)]

Thanks Kevin, I do have a copy of the Cayman S Sport brochure (Hatfield OPC gave me one, as I bought their demonstrator car [:D]). I'm still curious for any information about numbers sold in the UK, and in which colours. On the Design Edition 1, I see John Rafferty partially [link=http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/fb.asp?m=338141]answered my question here [/link](he says less than 100 Design Edition 1's came to the UK). Any other Cayman limited edition owners on here?

And, as if I needed to prove how obsessive I am [:D], here are what I think are the possible paint codes for the Sport: 8C6? Orange L041 Black ("Tiefschwarz") L12H Speed Yellow ("Speedgelb") L22S Signal Green ("Signalgrün") L80K Guards Red ("Indischrot") (or L84A?) L92U Arctic Silver Metallic ("Arktissilber", extra cost option) LB9A Carrara White ("Carraraweiss") I'd appreciate a double check on these if those who own a Sport could please tell me what their colour code is (marked in your service manual). Thanks!

Any other Cayman limited edition owners on here? nah....most of us have the much rarer cayman "s"[:D]

Having found the 2008 Cayman parts catalogue here: http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf/originalparts/en/E_987C_KATALOG.pdf it has the paint codes for the touch up paint for standard colours, and I'm assuming they're the same codes (give or take an 'L') as the original colour codes stamped in the service manual, so I can correct a couple: L8C6? Orange (it seems that German for Orange is "Orange", not "Tango" I'm afraid [;)]) L22S? Signal Green ("Signalgrün") L041 Black ("Tiefschwarz") L12G Speed Yellow ("Speedgelb") L80K Guards Red ("Indischrot") L92T Arctic Silver Metallic ("Arktissilber", extra-cost option) LB9A Carrara White ("Carraraweiss") Thanks to PlanetPorsche.net, I have established that Cayman S Sports do exist in black and silver (I've only found one of each though) but curiously I haven't found any yellow ones (maybe orange trumps yellow!) I also haven't found out where #001 is yet (the lowest number I've found is #004 which is a white one in South Africa).
