de-cat pipe for 944 s2?

Guest

a mate of mine has bought himself a 944 s2 cab, he has decided he would like a little more power out of it. i have recomended that he changes to an induction kit, fits a performance chip and removes the cat.
the first 2 have been easy to source but the latter is proving a little difficult, powerflow said that they couldn't even make one and steve at lodgesports told me he had never seen one.
has anybody on here removed the cat?
and if so where did they purchase there de-cat pipe?
thanks
steve

You could get an exhaust specialist to just cut out the cat and weld in a straight through pipe, or a small silencer instead. Try these:

www.longlife.co.uk
www.exhaustuk.co.uk

One of the 968 guys used MIJ (the second link) and they quoted £90 to weld in a pipe, and £150 to provide a straight pipe with flanges so that the cat could be bolted in and out at will (they need one for the MOT). K Reg cars and onwards (Aug 92) need to pass the more stringent emissions MOT

I can't imagine why Powerflow wouldn't be able to do it, still I wouldn't trust a jumped-up tyre fitter to make an exhaust for any car of mine so it was probably a narrow escape.

Hayward and Scott also make cat bypass sections if you don't fancy the Janspeed for any reason.
