Dead air flow meter!!!

Anybody had to replace their air flow meter? It appears that mine's on its way out after 112k miles, its still going but the idle is a bit lumpy and there's a distinct hesitance at very small throttle openings.
Anybody got any suggestions where I can get a replacement before Tuesday?

Yes, fairly, I was in at hte specialists having the mixture re-set after having SSI's fidded. It was running a little lean and we ran into low revs throttle issues...basically wouldn't have it. Sounds like the end of the meter track is shot, anyway, we're still running and I'm off to Le Mans next week...I hope!! She now starts, idels and goes, just gets lumpy when your tickling it along at low speed. Can't see me doing too much of that on the way down [:D]
Really. I'd like to get it sorted before I travel, but its not a huge issue.

may be a bit late but I got an exchange air flow meter from 'porsche shop' 0121 585 6088 it cost £260.40 and arrived in N. Ireland two days after ordering . Hope this helps

hi ray, can i ask what the reason was that you had to replace your meter, as i like phil, have a lean mixture setting.
i have fitted new inlet gaskets.

took car to have it prepared for an mot , garage said they could not adjust the CO level ( it was about 3.5) they recommended new meter (£260!!!) and this worked. I was having no other problems like poor starting or anything so had no warning the thing was packing in.

cheers ray, i have had mine serviced and was told that it was unable to make it more rich

thanks steve

As I understand it (I have the Bosch manual for the Motronic / Le Jetronic system) this AFM was used on a bunch of cars in the mid 80's. Be mindful that sometimes if you say "porsche" then the ££ goes up. If you said BMW 320, then it might be cheaper at the knackers yard (assuming you go second hand)
