dead wipers

Took the car out at the weekend only to find the wipers had stopped working, both off the stalk and off the intensive wash switch. As the washer still works on the intensive wash, can only assume a common connection/ fuse/ relay has broken somewhere along the way, or the motor itself has given up. The fuse in the in luggage compartment appears to be ok, so question is... where do I start ??

any advice is more than welcome

check the wiper arms below the hood, as the motor on mine was red hot and it turns out to just needing the movement oiled and freed up and it has been fine since.

ironically... depending on whether the rain holds off... I'll be taking a look at it this weekend.

I've had a look at the Bently manual, Is there any way of getting to the wiper motors etc without having to remove the heating system??

made a run for my local, and very trusted, mechanic today while the rain held off this evening...

After a bit of hunting.... nailed it to a connector being disconnected under the dash behind the steering wheel (Thanks to the alarm which was fitted a week earlier... )

so so relieved that it was nothing more serious and as a bonus, the washer now works off the stalk.. which hasn't since I picked the car up... [:D]
