dealership damaged my car during test drive

Good afternoon
I am looking for legal information of what to do or expect following the damage of my car during test drive by dealership
here is the email received :

There is however a more pressing matter I need to make you aware of, when road testing the car after carrying out the service as we do with every car we service. We have had a front impact in the ice which has caused damage to the front of your vehicle.
I sincerely apologise on behalf of the workshop and are treating this as a matter of urgency to rectify as quickly as possible for you. We are open and honest when these instances occur and will obviously keep you mobile whilst said repair takes place.
I am really sorry that I’ve had to give such news and please let me know if there is anything I can do for you in the meantime.
We are hoping to get the vehicle in the workshop this evening to remove the front bumper to assess if any damage has occurred behind. However I would like to know if you wanted to come down and see the vehicle or if you would want me to send any photos of the damage across to yourself.

Again I apologise such instance has occurred , please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Today, I am still waiting the pictures as i could not go today.
If somebody have any information about what i can claim ( warranty, compensation , just the repair )
Thanks a lot for your input
Jacques

I'd be first annoyed, then (on the basis of the email text) I'd be happy with the response and just follow up with them to feel comfortable they are fixing it properly, and keeping me mobile is in something better than a VW Up.

I don't see what compensation I could reasonably expect on a legal basis.

You're "lucky", a friend had his heavily modified >£100k Porsche written-off by a garage on a test drive.

Hope it all goes well.

thank for your answer
I should have more detail tomorrow from Porsche
finger crossed not so bad
Have a nice week end

Really sorry to hear this. The dealer seems to be pretty contrite so I do hope you get a satisfactory outcome.

Where are you in the UK? I only ask because if you are in the North West there is a pretty good chance your car will be sent to Road and Race Restorations in Worsley. Having had mine in there for a warranty claim on bent bonnet hinges, I can vouch that their work is superb.

I really hope that it's just a case of a damaged bumper and nothing more significant but at least the OPC were honest enough to let you know rather than trying to cover it up.

Regarding a claim, personally I'd be happy if they said they'd pay for the next service (lets hope it's a big one) and put you in a decent loaner until yours is fixed.

I don’t think you have further options than what has been offered unless you want to seek legal advice. The dealer has taken responsibilty and agreed to cover costs and provide transport.

If this had happened to me I would want to have the work done to my satisfaction and also understand the impact on the value of the car that the repair had. I guess that really depends on if we are talking about a front end ‘smash’ or just a minor bump.

I suspect and hope that there may be no insurance claim involved which could lead to the accident being recorded..Were it to be recorded for whatever reason, at that point I suspect the photographs might be very important for any future buyer reassurance that the dammage was only slight...?
As for compensation, I think the garage have been open, seemingly honest and happy to provide transport, A good relationship would seem to be worth maintaining if you intend to continue to run a Porsche..?

hi
Thanks for your comments and points
i am still waiting the pictures from the dealer,
they said minimal damages , bumper and fins
so at the moment i am waiting the call but even if it is minimal for the next owner , I will request the pictures and report
