What colour / finish should the decals 'porsche', '911S' and '2.4' be on the engine lid of my car. At the moment the '2.4' is chrome, '911S' is dark grey, and 'porsche' is matt silver. Just trying to make the car as correct as possible by sorting a few niggles!

Thanks Vic [:D]

I sorted Vic's out by getting them all anodised, they should all be (technically speaking) "not quite black"

Vic, do you have any pictures of your letters? Would be interested to see for comparison. Many thanks, Richard

Bit of a ludite with cameras ! Suffice it to say they start off black anodised , black wears off and they look almost like pewter after a while .Pitfall is to end up with shiny gloss black paint, suppliers who shud know better supply these, oftern at huge money!!!
Nicks man produced bluey /black finish looks cross between satin and matt , no one wastes as much effort polishing as i do and they re still fine ..............hence recommendation ; Alternatively there are pictures of Paul Madderns green car all over the place [ 2.4 '72 s ] also known as ferryman on DDK under restos .......take a peep .............Nicks guy did those .........................if desperate i am near St Albans if dat helps come and have a look!

The badges on Paul's car are actually original and unmolested

Thanks Nick. Following our telephone call earlier I have managed to remove the lettering from my car without any breakages! Looking at your photos of the green car, my 2.4 badge is correct. I will send the others in the post, along with the blue vinyl sample and we can take things from there. Trust that is ok . Richard.
