declutter bumper

Hi all

I have decided to spend a 'little' money on my 911 while its off the road this winter.
It needs a full exhaust so i am going to go for a SS system but at the moment I have only one outlet, is it possible to fit a twin ( one on the drivers side too)? How do I know if I need a cat?

Also I am having some poor paint work sorted mainly round doors, arches, windows and bumpers.I have read somewhere that it is possible to remove the rubber parts from the back bumper then fill the holes and respray but I was wondering if any of you know what to do about the number plate lights?

I doubt it's fitted with a Cat unless its a US model.

Why remove the rubber and spoil the originality? I think they look spot on as they are, but each to his own I guess [:)]

Just a point to bear in mind about the exhaust, the previous owner of mine ('86 3.2)put a twin outlet sports exhaust on and couldnt live with the extra noise!

Like this? Bumper holes TIG welded up, plate lamps are LED ones for motorcycles, mounted directly to the plate. They're feeble, but I got my MoT no problem. I got them on Ebay for £15 each.

that looks great, im glad to see im not alone in wanting to improve my car ( as i see it ).
was there a reason why you left the outside rubbers on, was it just for protection?

I just chose to leave the corners on for looks. The ends are nice and tidy where they finish, not trimmed - just moulded that way. If you delete them, you then have the mounting nuts to hide. This would mean some fabrication if you want a totally smooth bumper. [:)]

I see what you mean Richard there are a lot of holes to fill but I just love the look.nice without the valance too[;)]

If you drill out the bolts from the bumper hangers you can bolt the bumper on with dome head bolts, bit fiddly getting to the nuts on the inside of the bumper but looks much better. I mounted the number plate on a bracket under the bumper with small number plate lights at each end. Need to get the holes welded up then might move the bumper back to normal place and fix how Jean has with the light bolts.
