New member
Hi all!

My name is Kieran, I'm 23 and from Glasgow.

I am a hydrographic surveyor and an amateur racing driver, currently competing in the Scottish Legends Championship.

I decided after years of company cars, it was time to treat myself.

Pick the car up on Friday, here is the spec:

2013 Unregisterd Cayman S

Black Full Leather Interior
PDK Transmission
20" Classic Alloys
Blue Tooth
Sport Design Steering Wheel
Heated Seats
Rear Wiper
Park Assist Front & Rear
Sport Seats Plus
PCM Navigation
Bose Surround Sound
Sports Chrono Package
Sports Exhaust System
Guards Red Seat Belts

I am delighted with my purchase and cannot wait until I pick it up.

I have been training at Porsche the last few weeks to improve my racing techniques.

It urged me to go and buy one.

Cheers!

Great specification and all the nice sporty options including the essential PSE[;)] Was it a stock car or did you spec it up yourself Good luck with your new car I am sure it will thrill despite having the wrong roof configurtion for me[:D]

Congrats and I think the S with PDK will be the best combination. It can be a bit quiet on here from time to time but we have quite a large active group over on a thread that is predominantly about the 987 Spyder but we discuss all the mid-engined modern cars a lot i.e. Boxster/Cayman, 981/987 as we look towards the 981 taking over the mantle. Would be great to get an insight from a racing driver on owning/driving the 981. I've just been sharing my thoughts after having a 981 Cayman for a couple of days. Great car. You're welcome to post on there about your experiences with the 981. If nothing else, trying to poach you might spark up some banter on your thread[:D] http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=719756&mpage=181

Well done Kieran - sounds like a great 981S spec. As 6 says, keep us posted on your ownership impressions. How about joining the Club to enjoy the company of like-minded enthusiasts on the Cayman Register? Enjoy the summer. Jeff

Hi Kieran, as Jeff says it would be good for you to join the club and to get busy on the forum, don't take too much notice of the Cayman Convertible crowd they just want a roof.[:D] Looks like a nice spec, I've driven the both the 981 Cayman and Cayman S absolutely brilliant cars just not figured out how to get one but my money is on Euromillions![:D][:D] The Cayman forum can get a bit quiet at times but it's largely due to us actually being out using them. Back to add that the Cayman owners in Scotland are very active, must be the mountain air and empty twisty roads. There are two Scottish regions but I think the more active is centred around Dundee they seem a good crowd and I'm sure you would be welcome.

Hi guys, I have registered and payed my membership so hopefully will receive the card soon! I am potentially picking the car up tomorrow, my father now wants to sell his Panamera turbo, and purchase a 981s. I will have to join the cayman register. I always use forums and I am delighted with the good feedback you guys have given me. I am nowhere near a professional racing driver but I can handle the cars pretty well I think, the balance was just second to none and power slides were exciting! Will speak soon as I have the car. Cheers again folks!

Great pics of the Cayman and Legend (cool paint scheme!) cars Kieran. Where do you race the Legend? A bit different from the Cayman I suspect..! If you're still planning to collect the Cayman on Friday, keep us posted on your impressions over time. Jeff

It is the exact opposite of the cayman in its entirety, only commonalities are Rwd, and as clarkson would say 'POWWWWEEERRRRR' Both extremely fun to drive, and completely different experiences all together. I suggest you try a legend experience if you ever gt the chance! I race them at knockhill, also visiting donnington this year for our away round. Last year was Anglesey and oulton park, both extremely great tracks. I am now collecting it tomorrow, and in one weeks time I pick up my new work horse. A 2013 Facelift dodge ram HEMI sport (no chrome!). Can't wait!

Afternoon all! Now had my cayman for 8 days, what a machine, fantastic to drive, fantastic to live with. Most importantly, amazing smiles per pound ratio. Anyone considering a new Cayman, the sports exhaust is a must, what a noise, in towns and built up areas it just sounds spectacular! Originally the Bluetooth Mic did not work, but that has now been sorted. It was 2 wires touching behind the headunit, which i was not too pleased to hear! Other than that, extremely happy with the car!

Great looking carsssssss. Looks like you are enjoying them both. Love watching the Legend's race. It is what racing is about. May catch ya some day [;)]

We are at donnington in august if that is nearer than knockhill, free food and drink too! Thanks, will post pics of my work horse and toys too soon!

Good to hear that you're enjoying Cayman ownership Kieran. Keep us posted on your Donnington exploits - much more accessible for me. Never been to a Legend race so this could be the opportunity. Jeff

Hi Keiran, I've had the Cayman S for a few days now - a brand new loan car while my 997 was in for a service. I have to admit I love it! PDK box if amazingly responsive and the car is quick - drove it like I'd stole it! Hope you have fun times & enjoy it to the max which I'm sure you will. Nip onto the Scotland forum & say hello - in actual fact, R1 is very active! Club nights are the first Tuesday of the month in the Sherbrooke Hotel in Glasgow & for us easties - we've changed to the last Thursday of the month commencing in August, where we meet up at Dakota Hotel, South Queensferry. If you've joined, Scott Laurie our RO will no doubt be in touch. On another note - there's another one of our members who races in the Classics at KH in an older 911 - Raymond Boyd. Maybe you know him?? Anyway - enjoy the car & will probably meet you at some point throughout the year. Kim
