Delivery day freebies

Interested to hear what dealer freebies people got when collecting their new 997. I dont mean extras in the deal such as mats, discount or fuel etc, what I mean are those gifts given on the day of the collection that are "unexpected".

In all the news cars that Ive had in the past I think flowers and champagne have been the norm, both of which are nice but are gone within a week of collection.

This time however I was pleasantly surprised with my gifts :

Porsche Cap
Porsche Design Ballpoint Pen
Porsche Mug
Extra Porsche Keyring (I believe one is the norm?)

All quite nice and whats more I will probably use each one.

So what did everybody else get?

that sounds impressive, especially if you didn't have to ask.

After handing over a banker's draft for c.£70k (less the initial £1k order and then remainder of 10% balance for deposit), I got given the floor mats and a key ring!!!

On asking nicely, I got another key ring for the other key :ROFLMAO:

Which OPC are you dealing with if you don't mind me asking.

I used JCT600 Leeds. Salemans was Dean Bartle - a really nice down to earth guy and I got on with him really well.

I guess the gifts are a combination of Dealer policy, salesman policy (Im wondering if the gifts come out of their commission) and who well you have got on with them etc... (i.e. Have you had cause to get @rsy with them over anything)

Not sure how much my gifts are worth but the £50 voucher sounds like it might give my lot a run for its money.

by being@rsy you mean did i drive a pretty hard bargain ?-then i stand guilty as accused!!certainly got more than £50 discount!!![:D]
like your freebies tho-well done!!

Collecting the car from Stuttgart, they gave me a LED torch (small)
After the OPC had checked it over they gave me.... eerrr nothing...[:'(]
After reminding them of the conversation I got my floor mats and upon pushing a pair of keyrings a week later...

On most previous purchases I have a least got a bunch of flowers for the Mrs....[&:]

Oh yeah, the full tank of fuel. When collecting in Stuttgart the car was full, took it to the OPC nearly empty, and when I collected it, it was.......................nearly empty! Never mind[:(]

Collected various models over the last 4 years from Silverstone.

Always got keyrings, flowers, but also had a wheel cleaning kit and when I bought my last 997 ex demo I got keyrings, flowers and two die cast models for my boys.

I got the impression that it is down to the salesman if you get any extras over and about the standard flowers and keyrings.

I paid for my mats! Got 2 engraved LED key ring torches from Stuttgart and - err not a thing from Exeter OPC! However I've just been invited by them to the Festival of Speed so I'm not complaining (much). [:)]
Regards,
Clive

I got free mats.
Two bottles of oil + two leather pouches
Bottle of Champagne
3 x Porsche Mugs
Porsche Junior Seat Isofix
Porsche Cufflinks

And just got an invite to Porsche C Cup at Donnington, full hospitality.

Boxster S - Print of pencil drawing of Boxster S with my reg plate - quite nice
