Delrin ARB Bushes

Gents,

I am deciding on what suspension bits to get for my car. Whilst I am almost going around in circles on the dampers front (decided on Konis originally but now an unsure), the ARB bushes I'm pretty sure on, and am thinking of getting the Delrin ARB bushes.

The question is, where can I get these bushes from to fit an S2? I know the Yanks sell them, but that seems to be about it...

Anyone advertising 'poly' bushes will be offering a Delrin product, Delrin is simply a tradename.

Delrin is a Dupont trademarked material different to polyurathane, I can't see any reason why people selling polyurathane bushes would necessarily sell delrin bushes.

That was my understanding too.

If people meant to buy the Poly Bushes, which do you recommend for an S2? I know Powerflex seem to have a hit and miss reputation across the forums.

Chas,

I have the koni adjustables and Powerflex bushes on my S2. I'm not sure how much difference they each make in isolation as I did them all at once, but the set-up together is excellent.

I can't remember how much the bushes were, but I think they were pretty cheap from Proven Products. Unfortunately I think they have gone up fairly steeply in price since I did them.

We are really splitting hairs now.

Sorry didn't mean to do so. Delrin is very different to Polyurethane though, PU is like rubber whereas Delrin is a hard plastic type material. They are quite different. Maybe you are right though, perhaps most people who make bushes would make them in both?

Delrin is hard and self lubricating - turns nicely in a lathe, poly bushes are usually moulded and are more 'rubbery'

From the bushes that Ive seen Id come to the conclusion that they were machined; from what appeared to be a Delrin-like material (and Id started to presume that 'poly-bushes' was more of a trading style, than confirmation of the EP actually used). If Im at a loose end tomorrow I will look up the hardness of PU and Delrin. Both are a world away from rubber compliance bushes though.

My only advisory on my MoT was my front ARB bushes, so it seems a good opportunity for a minor upgrade.
I Poly-bushed my last 3 SAABs and it was probably one of the best value upgrades you could do, especially comparing worn rubber to new Poly.
Are their any other bushes that should be done as well as the ARB?
I measured my ARB at 27mm, it seems a bit of an odd size?
