Just installed one of these in my MY'05 Cayenne S (it has PCM version 2.1). Excellent product - the sound from the iPod is awesome (at least compared with the FM modulator that I was using before) and it's great (and safe) being able to control everything through the PCM. Most people seem to fit them in the boot alongside the CD changer but I decided to tuck the Dension box under the drivers side dash and plumb it directly into the back of the PCM head unit. It was pretty striaghtforward - took about an hour. I ran the iPod connector cable underneath the central console and into the lower central storage box where I now keep the iPod. Convenient and neat. If anyone wants any advice on doing this let me know.

Dension Gateway 500 for iPod

Sorry I didn't take any shots during the installation but here's what I did:
1. Remove PCM unit(see below)
2. Unplug fibreoptic connector from the back of the PCM and connect up the Dension fibres as per the Dension installation booklet (see below). The connector has in and out arrows and you need to go out from the PCM into the Dension and then out from the Dension back into the PCM
3. Release the cover under the steering column (2 Torx screws then it just pulls down) and tuck the Dension unit in there. Getting the fibres through from the back of the PCM is fiddly but can be done (need smaller fingers than I've got!)
4. You can get always on +12v power from the fusebox at the right hand end of the dash
5. Remove the captive screws at the rear end of the central wood panel in order to lift it up so that you can run the iPod cable from the Dension unit into the central storage compartment
6. I also ran the cable for the small bypass switchbox/Aux input along the same channel and placed it down the leftside of the drivers seat just in front of the seatbelt anchor (not essential but makes it easy to switch the unit off for servicing etc)
If you want to see how to remove the PCM unit to get to the connections at the back I found some very helpful pictures via the US Rennlist forum. The link below should take you straight there:

And you can download a copy of the Dension installation instructions here:

Hope that helps. Don't hesitate to ask for more guidance if you need it.
Good luck!

I installed the Dension Gateway 500 kit and the iPod a couple of months ago. All the kit are in my glove compartment. Very neat as I can accessed them very easily as one can imagine.
I sold my Cayenne not long ago and removed the Dension kit from the car before doing so. The kit is complete apart from the iPod clip holder.

If anyone is interested in it please pm me with an offer. It all worked just before I removed it from the car but it's obviously second hand and comes with no warranty.
