Hi guys (and girls)
I'm a newbie on here and bought my first Porsche 3 weeks ago an immaculate 2005 997 C2S chrono w/sunroof in silver the car is totally awesome the only slight niggle is the lack of bluetooth/ipod integration. The car was purchased privately and came with an expensive Porsche warranty which I am in the process of transferring into my name. How good are these bluetooth kits and are they a definite no no if you have a Porsche warranty? Is there a solution that will not affect my warranty

Definite no-no if you want to keep the warranty. There is a Porsche solution listed in Tequipment, but it is just a line in with charging function and does not allow you to control the iPod via PCM. The best bit is that I've been quoted £575 fitted!!! CDs don't seem so bad anymore, and if you have a later unit then you can play mp3 CDs.

Sorry to disagree, I had a Dension unit (good choice by the way) fitted before the car was a year old, subsequent to that I have had a warranty engine (complete), drivers binnacle matrix display, exhaust, flywheel, all replaced without question. Maybe my OPC is just one of the good ones (Bournemouth). There is a small switch on the Dension unit which renders it invisible to the PWIS that the OPC uses for disgnostics, so all that needs to be done is flick the switch before giving the car to your OPC. To be sure though, if I were you. I'd ask the OPC up front and see what they say. Paul

As Paul points out there are some OPC's that are worth talking to prior, however the rules do state it would/should void your warranty. garyw
