Does anyone have any experience with the Dension kit? Thinking of installing seeing as my disc changer has become temperamental and would like to connect my iPhone for music and phone use instead. Any advice is welcome. Thanks, John.

Hi there,
I fitted a Dension Gateway 500S BT to my 996 4S and I am very pleased with the upgrade. I can now stream music by Bluetooth from my iPhone directly through the PCM 2 unit, I have a playlist on a USB stick that I can access with artist and track displayed on the PCM 2 display and I can use my phone hands-free via Bluetooth with full address book access via the PCM 2 display. I can highly recommend the product.
I had read issues about Bluetooth signal strength and drop-out issues if you fit the Dension module in place of the 6 CD changer located in the front storage area and you also need to feed several cables through the bulkhead firewall into the cabin for the controller and the phone mic pick-up. So I decided to loop out the fibre optics on the CD and fit the Dension module in place of the phone module under the seat. This had an added benefit that I was able to locate the controller with the USB port in the centre console under the arm rest. This is a very useful location if you plan to use the USB port for either a USB stick playlist or to charge your phone while on the go.
The Dension unit fits seamlessly with the PCM2, cluster display and stalk functions. Once installed, there is no evidence of any changes in the car and you can easily revert to the standard PCM2 system if you wish. If you need any more info about my installation, feel free to ask.

Thanks Steve, that's really helpful feedback! I'll get in touch once I've ordered it for some expert guidance on install. Thanks again, John.
