Guys,

Has anyone fitted the Dension Gateway adapter to their PCM so they can connect their iPod, USB device and CD changer?

I'm thinking of this for my next project and wondered if the sound quality is good and it's easy to use etc...

Cheers,

Neil.

For that sort of money you could buy a USB cd changer.

And to connect an Ipod just buy a USB + Phono Ipod cable so you can charge and play, And connect it through the back of the oem Radio And wire in a USB Cigar adapter behind the scenes too. I just took the guts out.

£160 just for an Aux input NO WAY

Give Me £160 Ill even do the install for you.

I haven't found any proof yet, but I think a Grom unit works with the Becker Head.

PCM2 has fibre optic connections between head unit and CD changer, so units like that won't work unfortunately. Mobridge is another option, but I have no immediate experience of either (other than coding a couple of systems to accept them).

From the reviews I've read and responses I've had now, the Dension 500 Gateway is excellent for the iPod and USB, but poor for Bluetooth phone connectivity. It gives you a connection to the phone for calls, but does not allow you access to the phone's address book etc...

Dension are in the process of making a new "MOST Five" gateway that has Bluetooth integrated and gives you the address book etc.. I haven't been given a release date yet, but I think I will hold off until it's out.

My brother had a NAV-TV Tooki bluetooth kit on PCM2.0 in his Cayenne. It worked superbly but they are very expensive new. He got it second hand on eBay for about £100 IIRC. It simply replaces the phone module under the seat, but you lose the handset functionality.

Unfortunately neither the Mobridge or the Tooki handle USB, so Dension MOST Five it is! To be released in March apparently.
