Guys,

Has anyone fitted the Dension Gateway adapter to their PCM2 so they can connect their iPod, USB device, phone and CD changer?

I'm thinking of this for my next project and wondered if the sound quality is good and it's easy to use etc...

Cheers,

Neil.

Not exactly, but I have fitted a Dension Gateway 500 to CDR23 with Bose "upgrade". Works great, sound quality is good (better than the CDR23/Bose can deliver, anyway). Also used to have same fitted to an Alpine system in another car and that sounded really good.

Summary - I'd recommend the Dension GW500. I won't say the same of CDR23 with Bose.

Thanks very much. I'm going to take the plunge! I'm waiting for the next version of the Dension though (the Dension MOST 5) which has intergrated bluetooth that accepts your phone's address book etc. It's due for release in March.

Cheers,

Neil.

I have the Dension 500 in my 2004 Boxster S. The sound quality is as good as the CD (obviously depends on the quality of your MP3 files, though) but I find the playback menus rather awkward. You can download some software that creates index files for the folders you use, which apparently makes it quicker to navigate, but I can never get the PCM2 to really do what I want it to. And I'm pretty certain it forgets what you've set in terms of repeat, etc. People have found their technical support to be somewhat lacking too!
