Dent repair

Can anyone please recommend a good "Chips Away" person near Billericay to try and sort out a bonnet dent and possibly a door scratch.

I realise I can contact Chips Away but wondered if anyone out there in our region had some good experiences etc... Being Artic silver would really like someone with long experience and I don't mind taking the car along for a while you wait if it means a good job.

Even OPCs use these franchise operators for minor repairs.

I had an annoying little dent in the door of my 73 RSL and my wife had a tiny crease dent on the top of the rear wing of her Boxster (arctic). Both removed to perfection at very modest cost.

Will, firstly welcome.

Secondly I highly recommend London Road Coachworks in Grays. I realise it's a bit of a bounce from Billericay but the guys there are absolute stars.

I had a ton of stone chips on the nose of my arctic silver Boxster and they resprayed it beautifully. They matched the colour in incredibly well and i'm still very chuffed with it.

I'll try and get the number for you when I see my husband tonight.

Well after a late night date in Mountnessing with a shallow ditch on Saturday which was set up by some gravel I have a little more than a dent to sort out now!!! [:(][]

I haven't damaged/bent any steel mainly paint work and a rear bumper. Happened very slowly but damp grass meant I kept sliding although did manage some damage limitation by avoiding a locked gate.

Drove her home seems ok. Lancaster Porsche chap just been to my house to inspect and he is working on the estimate now.

So I'll probably get the dent sorted by them while its in and some minor corrosion/bubbling between the front windscreen and wipers under Porsche 10 year warranty.

Not how I wanted to get a small ding sorted but .......

Sorry to hear of your exploits Will. I hope you get the car back soon.

Thanks John, just put the phone down they can't take it before Monday 17th May.

It is driveable at the moment but just too upsetting look at plus the fact I so far have mangaged to keep the whole incident private and if my friends find out they will be ribbing me for years !!!!

Just have order my groceries on-line and get them delivered.[:D]

Are you commited to Lancasters as I'm not sure that they do the repairs in house. I can't remember if it was in one of the many Porsche journals I read, or in one of the forums, but I recall an owner was less than pleased with the finish on his car which was ultimately re-done twice.

Things have changed recently, but it might be worth asking them or you might want to consider an OPC that does give that assurance.

Thanks John. Lancaster Colchester use Lancaster Cambridge bodyshop.

I have a number of reasons for using an OPC.

- I am having some minor bubbling under the front windscreen/wipers sorted under warranty.
- Although the car did not come off the road quickly it did come off the road so I would like it given the once over (especially the front end set up- shocks etc., which I have just had renewed by JZ !!!)
- I would like to keep the Porsche body work warranty.

I really don't think other than scratches and rear bumper the car has any other problems and if it wasn't for the warranty issues/repair I would look at/research other shops.

Can you recommend another OPC?

My question is similar to above.

Had a stone hit my bonnet today and put a shallow dent in it about the size of a 10p coin. No paint work damage.

Do I go to OPC Guildford or get somebody from "Chips Away". Can anyone recommend a somebody from Chips Away or similar in the Camberley Surrey area?

And yesterday I was counting myself lucky when I managed to avoid a chicken that an oncoming Audi TT had launched about 20ft into the air into my path. I had visions of the Boxster picture on another thread (search for 'Bird Strike').
