Design 90's

I have standard teledials at the moment on my 86 Lux but am thinking of putting 16" Design 90 wheels on.
Will they just go straight on or do I need to do anything first (other than take the teledials off [

] before someone says it)

No, you'll need quite chunky spacers of about 30mm each end.

Thanks for answering Fen, but can you explain what that means to me[8|] please. I guess so that it put the wheels in the right place, but words of one syllable. I am just starting at the bottom of the learning ladder you see. Also any problems with so this, is it a good idea etc.

if you imagine the horizontal distance between an imaginary centre of the wheel, and the face where the the wheel mounts to the disc, that's your offset. the wheels on 944's essentially (although there are complications) came with 3 different offsets. if you have a car with an "early" offset, then you can't fit "late" wheels without fitting a spacer between the wheel and the disc. (the wheel will sit too far inboard without it, and hit the caliper). the other way round, and the wheel will stick out of the arch.

I didn't take the 1's, I bought a set of 2's from someone who contacted me via pistonheads. They were in pretty good condition but are undergoing a full refurb at Lepsons, back on Saturday, with a new set of F1's [
