detailing and preparation by Porsche Reading

I am thinking of treating my turbo to a bit of tlc for the Spring and a road trip around the Alps this June and made an enquiry via my OPC at Hatfield as their cars are always immaculate on resale. Reading are happy to give me a quote (not painting any panels as even my OPC says that is a waste of money as they would do that post any px for the turbo s).

Does anyone have any experience here with having used Porsche itself to detail a car?

I might otherwise use Elite Detail or Miracle Detail or Hatfield OPC have already quoted me a machine polish and spruce up via FastLane in St Albans who are Porsche's largest recommended repairer which seems resonable for a couple of days work.

I think its black that just shows the marks much worse than my last grey 911

The last place I'd take my car to be detailed would be the OPC- they will only book a professional and mark it up anyhow.
Dealing with the 'organ grinder' makes much more sense to me...

Yes true, sorry I meant to say I went to FastLane who are used by Porsche and had a quote direct from them, not actually via the OPC. Reading is different in my view, subject to the quote of course

I use Chequered Flag Valeting (07974 578365). Region 24 Club member who knows how to deal with black 911s as he has one.

I would heartily recommend using GTechniq's products. They use nano-scale composite materials and the effect on your car is astounding.

They are based over the yard from JZ Machtech Porsche specialists in Kings Langley, Herts.

I have used them 3 times now for various vehicles, and can honestly say that the results are fantastic. The finish lasts indefinitely on the car, and I know from personal experience that it significantly increases the times between washes as the dirt and water just fall off the car. They can treat windows and wheels too, which makes them shed water. It's like a proper Rain-X on your windows :)

Water stayed beading on my cars for over a year, and with a small touch up, it's back to pristine condition. I used to use the Zymol waxes and spend days getting my cars into that condition. This treatment achieves and maintains it for a fraction of the cost and effort!

As a bonus, they remove any small blemishes in the paintwork, including wash swirls and so on. Their costs are very reasonable - no more than a normal detailing would cost, but doesn't require the same maintenance!

Their web site is http://www.gtechniq.com/ There are a few Porsches on display in the gallery at http://www.gtechniq.com/gallery/

My contact there was Rob Earle and the number 01923 264 344.

Hopefully this helps and gives you an alternative.
