Hi All,
Can anyone let me know of the PC charge for a diagnostic check in their locality ?
I recently reported to the local PC [ from whom I'd purchased the car] that my 2018 2.0 Macan [ 24,000 mile ] had experienced a two failures on the same day, i.e. failure to engage reverse gear , resulting in a '' possible reverse fault - forward possible'' appearing on dash screen [ handy when you're facing a wall in a car park ! ] . They decided it would require a diagnostic check to indentify. [ Incidentally after switching the engine off and back on, it's been fine since , but the worry is now in the back of my mind , and I need it resolved one way or another. Sadly the car was just 3 weeks and two days out of warranty at the time !
The following day my local independant Porsche specialist checked it whilst I waited [ excellent survice as ever ] , and after 5 minutes decided that there had been a recorded incident ,but that with his equipment he couldn't pinpoint it . Sadly this means I'm faced with having to suffer the amazing PC charge for a diagnostic check of £186 !! To add insult to injury thay can't carry out the check for three weeks and when I questioned how I should proceed if it lets me down in the meantime, the response was to have the car recovered to them and they'll look at it when they can !
Seems amazingly excessive for 5 minutes work !!??
Any ammunition for my forthcoming visit ?
Thanks,
Steve
