Dials on a 2.7

Can anyone sugest how to make the fascia of my 2.7 Boxster look a bit more 'interesting'. Unremitting black on black is not very attractive. Possibly silver surounds on the dials although I suspect that changing teh dilas to white would be fearsomely expensive? Any ideas out there? And the likely cost?
Incidentally I am a PCGB memebr despite what it says on the left of this message.

Can't help with the dials, but check out Marks post for the member status:

I wish he'd publicise it more [;)]

There are aftermarket kits for doing this.

Just press a bit harder on the 'go' pedal and you will not have time to look at it! [:D]

JCB..

Many thanks; I am afraid that I am a lawyer and a non-technocrat. If I even try to put a plug onto a cable it always seems to go wrong so I would never dare to change something as complex as a speedometer [etc.] dial. I understand that one can buy silver surrounds for the dials which are [relatively] easy to put/push/stick on. I[sm=spanner1.gif][sm=spanner1.gif] expect that this is the limit of my 'engineering' ability; and anyway I would not want to ruin an almost perfect car - certainly the finest car that I have ever owned or driven.

You can get a silver fascia which surrounds the dials - costs the earth when fitted as a new option. The sensible alternative is to keep browsing eBay (under parts by make) where they sometimes appear as used items from cars being broken for parts.

Here's what mine looks like as a taster:

Try looking some of the decent Porsche magazines out there (911 & porsche World / GT Purely Porsche / Excellence etc) and in some of the small ads you might find people like Type 911 who specialise in after market goodies.
I had my 986S specced with small arctic pack which breaks up the black leather interior quite nicely without being too garish (although it's all just a matter of personal taste eh?). They also supply arctic silver trim from console surrounds to ignition switch and other assorted trim in silver.
I can't vouch for quality, but in the pics they look identical to mine (and I bet they're easier on the wallet too!).
Alternatively, placed a starved ferret in the footwell - that way you won't give the sombre trim a second thought, and you'll be toe and heeling before you know it (joke)!
Good luck!
