Diamonbrite

My OPC is suggesting that I get my new car treated with a product called DiamondBrite. Apparently it has a 6 year guarantee. Does anyone have any experience with this product? please advise

In my opinion it is a lot of money for a sub-par product. Are they charging £300 for it?

I had a new car detail including Zymol Royale wax which is the stuff that costs £7K for not too much more. Also the guy that did it is a real professional. www.elitedetailing.co.uk - speak with Gurcharn to get his opinion

Have a look at his web site, click on new car treatments and see New Car Detail - that is my motor! Royale is the strongest natural was in the world.

They were doing demonstrations of it tonight.. well a demonstration anyway...
Sadly I arrived late and missed the sell...

Jamie thanks for your feedback. they said it would cost between 300- 400 pounds. I do not want to have to regularly spend a lot of time or money say 3 - 4 times per year, 'topping up' or re waxing etc. Twice a year I can live with. What struck me about the diamondbrite was that you simply rinse the car once a month with a conserver while you wash it. I am sure Elite are second to none, their testimonial page is impressive but I wonder how long their condition would last with daily driving etc. Diamaondbrite strikes me as more of a product that will provide protection for daily driving wheras elite seems to be more preparing the car for it;s once in a lifetime (or 3 times a lifetime, so far, in my case), must look my absolute best for the day, wedding photos, if you understand what i mean. Do you agree? or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

I'm no expert to be honest, it sounds like the OPC has their sales patter to a fine art - if you speak with a detailer I'm sure they'll have their sales patter to a fine art - but they do know what they are talking about.

If I were you, I would speak with a detailer - get his opinion + opinion on diamondbrite and make an informed decision from there.

Incidentally, Diamondbrite isn't a generic Porsche offered product, most offer Zymol (although a cheaper wax then Royale) - Diamondbrite is pushed by certain dealer groups and they offer it accross all of their franchises.

I looked at Diamond brite a while back on a car. The price the Porsche dealer was going to do it for was more than double the price you could get it done for elsewhere. When I searched for diamondbrite on google etc I found the local ford garage did it, like I say at half the price of the Porsche garage. There is a Uk franchise I believe for DB & I dont think its Porsche people put it on, the local DB Franchisee just visits & puts it on.
I wouldnt bother with it anyway, It doesnt come up that great with just a rinse on a regular basis...I found better results were to be had with Meguairs Gold car shampoo & a final rinse with filtered water for a quick wash.
Better spending the money on the protective film for the front end to keep stone chips away...chuffed with mine, 2500 miles and not a stone chip to be seen!
