I understand with a 993 there is acommon problem with the diff bearing--I have seen reference to this in other threads--where the bearing comes apart and blocks the shift mechanism--does anyone know what causes this and whether it is prevalent across the range of 993's?

just replaced mine monday needle rollers ect get into gear pins and stop them from moving correctly no 2 4 6 th gear limited slip diff seems the better stronger one[:'(]
 
I haven't heard of a problem with 993 diff' bearings, but have heard that a 964 LSD is a good upgrade (better than a 993 LSD if already fitted), especially if that part of the car is already being attended to.
